The park is outfitted with a number of play structures, climbing mechanisms, and other assorted gizmos that keep children entertained for quite a while. Along with standard slides and swings, there are various agility-style bars that kids can climb or run through.

For smaller kiddos aged two through four years old, there is a toddler section of the park with age-appropriate, entertaining structures suitable for exploration with safety in mind.  Keith Swanson, a local father from Ocean Beach said, “my kids are two and eight; and it’s tough to find parks where both of my kids can play and have fun at the same time. Usually one of them cant’ play, or one gets really bored. This park is great because it offers something for all ages.”

The flooring is in huge contrast to the enormous field of sand in the previous, dated version of the playground.  According to Diane Brooks, mother of two boys, “it’s so much nicer leaving the park without emptying out shoes and socks full of sand.”

For older kids and adults, there is a section of the playground that is equipped for a full-body workout. Facing the water, there are three non-electric elliptical machines, an obstacle course-style climbing apparatus, and pull-up bars of varying heights. It is recommended, however, that younger children be supervised when using the machines in this section.

Last but not least, there is an expansive, comfortable shaded table area.  Parents were seen retreating to this sizable seating area complete with six cement tables, to watch their kids play, serve lunch, and take a break from the sun.

I like reporting on controversial topics that make your mind think.  I have covered the areas throughout California such as Lake Tahoe, Orange County, and now I am in San Diego, ready to uncover news most people won't discover on their own.  I love sports, a good drink, and did I mention sports?
