VIDEO: Pro Hoop in San Diego? You Bet!
San Diego has it all – sunshine, beaches, plenty of craft beer, delicious food, the Padres, world renowned golf courses, and so much more. But ask any sports fan what’s missing (other than the Chargers) and they’ll likely say a professional basketball team!
Lucky for San Diegans, we have a new professional men’s basketball team: The San Diego Sharks.
In 2022, team owner and former player, Tyler Sickmeyer, brought the Sharks to San Diego for their inaugural season. Led by Head Coach Brandon Cheeks, the team plays in The Basketball League (TBL), a new men’s professional basketball league dedicated to delivering a world class professional basketball experience to the local community, fans, and business partners.
The Sharks place an emphasis on giving back to our community by offering free admission to all games, free popcorn, and by hosting free youth basketball clinics throughout the city. From the ownership to the coaches, players, and partners, the team is dedicated to offering a fun, family-friendly experience for all to enjoy.
We had the pleasure of attending a recent home game and the atmosphere was great! Their mascot, Crunch, entertained the crowd with his dance moves, deep threes, and dunks – all while trying to bribe the referees with snacks! There were fun in-game promotions, including dizzy lay-ups and bounce ball races, and plenty of exciting basketball! After the game, the players stick around to meet the fans, sign autographs, and even shoot some hoops with the kids.
We’re looking forward to attending more games and enjoying the fun that the Sharks are bringing to San Diego!

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100 positive. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
